Why you have to invest in yourself

The best investment you will ever make, is investing in yourself

In business, it's easy to buy lots of nice furnishings, nice products, investing in websites etc and putting money into all the things that will make you look good. But the biggest and best investment you could ever make is an investment in yourself. Putting money into developing your education whether that's going on courses, buying business books, learning more about positivity and the law of attraction. All of these things WILL make you a better person and will have a positive outcome on your life.

Its not easy being in business. I smell bullshit whenever I see anyone say they went from rags to riches in 3 weeks, with little to no effort! I'm sorry, but get to fuck! You did not. It's not possible. It is possible however to make quick money fast, but that's the optimum phrase here. Quick money fast. In order to have a real, authentic, honest and successful business, you have to show up and own it every single day. There's no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs. It's all about the journey not the destination.

There's no elevator to success. Take the stairs!

Because if you are a real entrepreneur, there will never be an ending destination! You will constantly want to change the goal posts and keep moving forward because you fucking love the thrill and the power that it gives you. You have the power and the control over your life! No stuck up boss telling you that you have to do this that and the other! You are living the dream, that so many people out there would love to be living, but are too shit scared to do anything about it. That's the difference in them needing to be employed all their working life and you being self employed. Because you've got the guts and the fearlessness to keep moving forward and never stopping! That's a super power in its own right!

How I've invested in myself

I used to have a terrible relationship with money. Awful. I loved money coming to me but I hated spending it. This time last year I was in a little bit of debt just due to a couple of slow months in the salon. Everyone gets them. I was constantly on edge and was anxious that I had to get this debt paid of, but I just couldn't see how. To cut a long story short I had enough. The pain of never having money was too much to bare so I did something about it. It's a true fact that once a pain in life gets so significant, it's only then that you will do something about it in order to change it. That's where I was at. I decided to invest in myself because I'd read time and time again that if you want to be truly successful, you have to invest in yourself. Richard Branson, Tony Robbins and so many others have invested in themselves in order to move forward. Look at them now.

 The facebook marketing course

I spent a significant amount of money each month on a 12 month business marketing course, because to be totally honest I didn't have a fucking clue what I was doing before hand. I didn't know who my target audience was, I didn't have my branding right, my theme wasn't consistent. I knew I was good at my job, but it was the business side that was letting me down.

It didn't take me long to get it mastered. Once the money started rolling in I started to release this huge block I had with money. I started to realise that I'd invested all this money in new treatments, new products, new reception desks, new nail bars. But I hadn't once invested in myself and it was the one thing that was bringing me the most self worth, confidence, feeling of success and the most money.

The course is run by Carissa Hill and it's called Wolfpack Mastermind course. I've also done lots of courses with Carissa. Proven Profits, mini courses, ebooks etc! All have played a significant part in the growth of my business. More than anything for me, it was about confidence! Being confident in myself in knowing that I'm fucking good at what I do and that nobody has the right to tell me any different. Not even the negative committe who sits inside my head! Carissa has a group called Coffee with Carissa on Facebook. It's such an amazing little group! I love it.

She also offers lots of free mini courses, info on the Wolfpack mastermind course can be found here too, Carissa also writes ebooks and free mini courses too which can be found here. Carissa Hill

I have a great relationship with money

Now I've finished my 12 month marketing course, I've now got tons more confidence in myself as a person and business owner and within a year I've completely changed my relationship with money. I have now invested in a teaching course, added on a training academy to my existing beauty salon business, built a new website that includes blogs which are getting HUGE hits and I've been approached by affiliate programmes and online health and well being magazines about blogging FOR them. Im also a finalist in the British Hair & Beauty Awards for two categories! A completely different world from last year! All just because I invested in myself!

The best thing you will EVER do is getting yourself a business coach

When I set up the training academy I started to procrastinate and doubt myself, a feeling I hadn't been familiar with for a long time! I'm generally always really positive and encouraging but as anyone, I do get bumps in the road. I decided I needed someone to praise me, support me, kick my arse when I haven't done something! Because when you're self employed and your own boss, it's all too easy to think 'fuck it, I'll do it tomorrow' then tomorrow comes and it's still not bloody done!!! You do not have to be doing reams and reams of work every day though! I've learnt this from my coach actually. In my last Skype session with her, she asked me what I need to get done this week. I reeled off about 4 or 5 things and she stopped me and said "whoa whoa, that's more than enough. Don't ever think you have to be doing hundreds of things. A few things a week is more than enough"  This made me realise that it's totally true! Give yourself too much to do and you get burned out! You start feeling like these little jobs are chores and you make a mountain out of a mole hill! There's no need! Even one thing a day is a step in the right direction.

Who's my business coach?

My business coach is called Holly Matthews. She is an actress, mum, blogger, YouTuber and business coach. She's a British actress from the North East of England. So she's been in Byker Grove (I loved that) Waterloo Road, Casualty, The Bill. She's been in loads of things! She's married and she has two children! Unfortunetly her husband is battling grade 4 brain cancer at the moment. As weird as it sounds, it's that what attracted me to Holly. My mum died of cancer 7 years ago, so to see someone who's battling such an awful time, yet remains so upbeat, happy and positive and just wants the absolute best for people.. I knew that Holly was for me when I started looking for a coach. To be honest I don't think I actually gave anyone else a look in. I knew that Holly was my coach and within 24 hours I'd signed up for 12 weeks coaching and I'd paid the fee!

I knew that it would be an amazing investment. I'm only 3 weeks in and WOW!!! The support, guidance and ideas that she has shown me so far has been incredible. The way I think about things has massively changed and improved. And if I have any little wobbles or feeling of self doubt, she's only ever a message away to helping me get back on my feet! Sometimes you just need praise is business, someone outside to tell you that you are doing well, sometimes you need someone to be accountable for all your efforts. Setting goals and reaching them is far more enjoyable and makes you more determined when there's someone watching you. A business coach will not sugar coat things for you, they will tell you whenever you need to step up your game and work harder. As a business owner in order to keep hitting your goals and totally anialating them you have to have all of the above. You can tell your friends and family your ideas, but if they are stuck in the 9-5 Monday to friday mindset, don't be disheartened if they don't get it. Whereas a business coach will get it and they will help you to find ways to better yourself and succeed.

Ive invested literally thousands upon thousands into myself. When was the last time you invested in yourself?
